Thermal Barrier Coatings
These days the use of ceramic coatings has become widespread including Touring Cars, Super Car manufacturers and various rallying disciplines, which has led through to private owners using the coatings on track day cars and fast road cars.
Thermal Barrier Coating (TBCs) or heat reduction coatings are ceramic materials which are widely used on modern aero engines and land based turbines. They can also be applied to vehicle exhausts, turbocharger casings, heat shields and other vehicle components to reduce heat transfer and improve vehicle performance. Heat soak from hot exhaust systems transfers into other vehicle components causing reduced performance or damage.
Ceramic Coating
At Raw Coatings LTD we’re an authorised and trained Cerakote ceramic coatings application centre.
Ceramic coating is a coating we often get questions about. Here in the UK its mainly used for high temp coatings for exhausts – headers – turbos – manifolds and engine casings etc but in the USA they use it on everything from the entire gun industry to bike frames and everything in between all use it for all parts protection, Cerakote provides a robust, strong shield which is heat resistant impact resistant and corrosion resistant against the elements for all parts.
Powder Coating
We offer Powder Coating services from our workshop facility in York. We can powder coat most items but if you’re unsure, please call and we can discuss your specific item and advise on the options. We often Powder coat equipment and parts including:

Vapour Blasting
We vapour blast any parts to ‘as new’ condition
from bike parts – classic car parts. There’s no need to book for our vapour blasting service – just pop down with your parts and drop them off at reception.
